Corporate Secretary
Michael McKeown is CHSRF’s corporate secretary and its longest-serving employee, having joined the organization in 1998 after 14 years with the city of Ottawa’s municipal government.
Michael reports directly to the president and is a member of the senior management team (SMT) whose meetings he coordinates. He provides strategic advice on governance and board-related matters to the president and to the board of trustees. Michael also supports trustees by coordinating and planning meetings of the board and its committees, preparing (and managing the preparation of) meeting materials, and coordinating board succession planning, including the orientation of new members. Other tasks include responsibility for all board governance policies and CHSRF’s overall conflict of interest policy.
In his spare time Michael is one of the directors of his condominium corporation. He also enjoys kayaking off the coast of Vancouver Island, hiking in Gatineau Park, and has a great interest in history and genealogy.
