Northern Collaboration

The delivery of health services in the North has historically proven complex. It is challenging to build a sustainable, efficient infrastructure—one that supports the equal provision of health services to all citizens, fosters the innovation needed for change and builds the capacity to accomplish these goals. Today, governments and researchers are beginning to realize that successful practices in the South are often more difficult to apply, less relevant and less effective in the North. CHSRF’s newly developed Northern Initiatives Team will work to bring established CHSRF programming to Canada’s North, tailoring this work to the needs of the region and the context of the culture in order to support the improvement and sustainability of the health system.
