Ottawa centre to study the economics of primary healthcare
CHSRF is providing a one-time grant to the C.T. Lamont Primary Healthcare Research Centre for the “economic analysis of the consequences of achieving a high-quality primary healthcare system in Canada.”
The C.T. Lamont Centre, an affiliate of the University of Ottawa, will receive a grant of up to $50,000. The study will be led by Simone Dahrouge who will engage a team of primary healthcare and economics experts on the analysis.
Through this study they will:
- Estimate the economic consequences of improving Canadian primary healthcare in comparison to other jurisdictions;
- Provide illustrative examples of primary healthcare improvements and their economic consequences; and
- Provide expert commentary on the strategic investments required to close the gap in primary healthcare performance in Canada.
