The Foundation is seeking a Senior Advisor, Patient and Citizen Engagement to complement its existing team of dynamic employees. THIS IS A FULL-TIME, 3-YEAR CONTRACT POSITION.
As a key member of the Patient and Citizen Engagement team, the Senior Advisor participates in the development of a suite of activities informed by research, aimed at encouraging the engagement of patients in the design and delivery of healthcare services to generate greater institutional and professional accountability. Additionally, the Senior Advisor will take a lead role in developing initiatives that support lay (non system-experienced) citizen members on healthcare organization boards.
Specifically, the Senior Advisor is accountable for the development and implementation of program activities associated with patient engagement in health services delivery and supporting citizen members on healthcare organization boards. Major program activities and deliverables include:
- Scoping, scanning and identifying relevant patient and citizen engagement issues and challenges
- Summaries of relevant patient and citizen engagement options
- Commissioning of relevant patient and citizen engagement research and guidance
- Funding of patient and citizen engagement interventions
- Developing capacity-building initiatives to support patient and citizen engagement
- Roundtables, exchanges and deliberative dialogues that bring together policy leaders, managers, citizens, and research experts
