Nursing Leadership, Organization and Policy
New expenditures against this fund are now being wound down given the planned end-date for the fund (March 2009). The timing of the fund's wind-down provides an opportunity to integrate nursing and nursing-related activities within our existing and future funding vehicles and initiatives. The Foundation has commissioned an evaluation of the overall achievements and impact of the Nursing Research Fund.
In collaboration with the Canadian Nurses Foundation, the Partnership used a collaborative structure to create new funding partnerships that supported research on nursing care issues. The Partnership established links with 26 organizations, including specialty groups, healthcare corporations and institutes, and 59 projects were approved for funding.
Staffing for Safety - Nursing and Patient Safety
The Canadian Health Services Research Foundation and the Canadian Institutes of Health Research jointly fund four nursing chairs to mentor and educate less experienced researchers, train graduate students, build national applied research networks, and conduct research.
